AbbVieThe technical requirements gathering stage had continued for several years. As the first UX Designer on the project, my role was to define the user requirements, extend the user data to include the recently acquired Allergen Aesthetics, and produce mockups that would move the project to a reviewable deliverable.

​

  • Update AbbVie's Win95-based parallel synthesis tool to a state-of-the-art web-based application

  • Improve ease-of-use and decrease the learning curve

​

My tasks included

  • Inventory and map the current application and its many, many modals and sub-menus.

  • Learn existing system and define current tasks and flows

  • Gather user feedback from users on current painpoints and inefficiencies

  • Create mockups for review with stakeholders and users

  • Create a Design System in Figma for the project, based on AbbVie's Unity Design System.​

  • Update AbbVie's aging requisition tracking system

  • Increase visibility and reporting of requisition and vendor status

  • Drive use of existing vendors to

    • Capture savings on larger and repeated purchases

    • Decrease the size and maintenance of the vendor database

  • Accommodate existing processes used by Allergen Aesthetics

  • Improve ease-of-use to reduce training costs and to make the system self-service

My tasks included

  • Review and evaluate the POC 

  • Gather user feedback on the POC from users

  • Define current tasks and flows for Allergen and how they differed from those within AbbVie

  • Create mockups for review with stakeholders and users

  • Create a Design System in Figma for the project, based on AbbVie's Unity Design System in Sketch.​

DATA MARKETPLACE​​

 

The Data Marketplace project's goal was to provide one-stop portal to most data sources within AbbVie.​ These included data archives, research depositories, directories, department sites, and glossaries.

 

My tasks included 

  • Translating technical requirements to user requirements

  • Present multiple designs to stakeholders in order to further define their requirements and scope of the project

  • Iterate on page layouts to visualize benefits and tradeoffs

  • Define style guide for project
